Kelly joined Jones PR as Senior Account Executive in October 2015 bringing more than 20 years of experience in marketing and communications in both for-profit and non-profit business sectors. As part of the Public Affairs team, Kelly’s responsibilities include media and community relations, corporate communications, branding, and strategic planning. With her diverse background, she provides a unique, effective marketing approach for her clients.
Kelly spent the last 10 years working for Oklahoma’s CareerTech and Higher Education systems. For two years, she was the communications and marketing director for the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha, and previously served eight years as Canadian Valley Technology Center’s communications and marketing director, also in Chickasha. Before coming to Oklahoma, she worked in media relations, graphic design and marketing research for Arkansas-based Tyson Foods, Inc. She started her career in broadcast journalism in Little Rock where she was a news producer at a television station.
Kelly currently serves on the WildCare Foundation Board of Directors in Noble, and previously served on the Chickasha Chamber of Commerce’s Executive Board, Festival of Light Board, and completed the Leadership Chickasha program in 2006. Throughout her career, Kelly has been an active member of the Oklahoma School Public Relations Association, National School Public Relations Association, Oklahoma College Public Relations Association, and Public Relations Society of America. Kelly resides in Oklahoma City with her husband Travis, President of FTC Transportation and has one son who is currently attending college. Kelly enjoys spending her free time with her two Yorkies, singing in her church choir, and running.
In 2013, Kelly received the Communicator of the Year award by the Oklahoma Association of Career and Technical Education. The New and Related Services Division of the OkACTE named her as Outstanding New Professional in 2006. A native of Atkins, Arkansas, Kelly earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Arkansas Tech University in Russellville and her master’s in administrative leadership from the University of Oklahoma. Kelly earned her national accreditation in public relations (APR) from the Universal Accreditation Board in 2011.
